Have You Heard the Buzz?
The Cody Elementary PTA Buzz Book is available on the website for current PTA Members. This information is available as a pdf on the Member Dashboard. Don't forget to tell all of your Cody friends to join the PTA and help support our children's school! The more members we have, the better our efforts as an organization and our Buzz Book will be.
At the September Meeting, we shared information about the upcoming vote regarding a levy override. The quoted text below was taken from their website:
"Millard Public Schools are recognized as one of the top districts in the state for student achievement while maintaining the 3rd lowest cost per pupil.
Millard Public Schools have consistently been rated as one of the top school districts in the Nebraska. In a recent survey, 97.1% of Millard parents rated the quality of education as Excellent or Good.
However, recent cuts to state aid made by the Legislature are putting the quality education we have come to know in jeopardy. From 2009 through the present, MPS enrollment has grown by 5.6% with no increase in state aid. State funding to other nearby districts increased, while Millard saw a $2 million DECREASE in state funding.
Without allowing MPS to override the levy limit, the only option will be to make steep cuts to the MPS budget."
